The band King featured guitarist James "Jackel" Lantsbery, keyboardist Mick Roberts, bassist Tony Wall, and former Members drummer Adrian Lillywhite. Dressed in colorful costumes and spray-painted Doc Martens, the group scored a major U.K. hit with "Love and Pride," taken from their 1984 debut Steps in Time. After the 1985 follow-up, Bitter Sweet, King dissolved his band and embarked on a solo career that produced one album, 1987's Joy.
